Stuff Your Dog Fund-Raising Event for Pelotonia

July, 2019
How many hot dogs does it take to raise $450 for cancer research?

A total of 43 that’s how many! Jezerinac Geers hosted a Stuff Your Dog fund-raising luncheon for Project Engineer, Alain Kabbara, who is riding in fourth Pelotonia next month! Founded in 2008, Pelotonia is three-day bicycling and volunteerism event with One Goal – to End Cancer.

With toppings that included chili, queso, cheese, onions, mac and cheese, salsa, beans and crushed potato chips (oh my gosh so good, try them if you haven’t!) it was hard for all of us to stay within our comfort zone of eating … so we didn’t! We were happy to make ourselves miserably full for the remainder of the afternoon to help Alain reach his fundraising goal.

Here’s the story of Alain’s ride:

“I ride for my brother-in-law who had leukemia, both chronic and acute. Thankfully, the men and women at the James gave him the best treatment available and he has been in remission for a while, and his life is back to normal for him and my sister’s family! I also ride for Christina’s father, who had surgery for cancer, and is currently doing great!

This if my fourth year participating in the goal and I’m hoping to make by biggest contribution yet! Please join me in raising money for this great cause! 100% of donations go to cancer research! Here’s a link where you may donate: www.pelotonia.org/akabbara.”
