“It’s the beginning of a project that makes me tick. You can envision the end, identify how the building will be constructed, predict any challenges, and determine how to avoid them allowing the construction process to go more smoothly. There’s a lot of energy and excitement in that.”
Dan joined JGA in 2010 after completing his graduate degree in structural engineering and working in Chicago for an Engineering News Record top 500 firm. Dan takes a creative approach to solving structural issues and is known to provide multiple alternatives to guide client decision-making.
He excels in complex structural analysis methods, as well as in the efficient, practical structural design of buildings. The design and repair of high-rise buildings, parking structures, mixed-use buildings, office buildings and the adaptive reuse of existing structures are among the many building types in his portfolio.
His areas of knowledge in structural dynamics include: seismic analysis for moderate to extreme events; blast effect evaluations; foundation design for rotating and vibratory equipment; and floor vibrations due to human activity.
Making a difference in the design and construction industry is important to Dan and is reflected in his role on the Board of Directors of the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio.
