A Little Good Goes a Long Way

Practicing compassion is a character trait that, among many things, signifies a caring heart. Jezerinac Geers is proud (and not surprised!) that our own Steve McClarren is being recognized for his volunteer work to feed the hungry.
For the past two years, Steve has been working with Heart to Heart, a food pantry program founded by First Community Church, and has been named their volunteer of the month for April.
The community outreach program provides more than 117,000 meals to families in central Ohio and Steve helps make that happen by picking up frozen foods at a local grocer every other Friday morning and dropping the goods off at the pantry.
“No one should go hungry, especially children and families; so if my small effort can help out, it’s the least I can do,” McClarren said adding, “Heart to Heart is lucky to have such a great director and volunteers.”
Considering the number of meals the pantry has provided, it’s evident Steve, along the pantry’s staff and volunteers, are helping make a big impact in our community. For more information about Heart to Heart please see: http://fcchurch.com/heart-to-heart/.
