Meet Danny Ruffley,
Project Engineer and
Jezerinac Geers’ Newest Employee
University of Cincinnati, Bachelor and Master of Civil Engineering
Originally from Grove City and now living in Grandview
What makes you tick?
Coffee. Waay too much coffee.
Why did you decide to become an engineer?
I always wanted to know how and why. Sometimes pursing those questions takes you down a deep well. When I learned that going down that well was engineering, the decision was easy.
What’s the last good book you’ve read?
A Crown of Swords – Robert Jordan
If money were no issue, where would you travel (and why)?
Mars. I might be one of the first to solve structural challenges there.
Who inspires you (and why)?
I don’t usually draw inspiration from people. Ideas are easier for me. Ironically, the Scarcity Principal is rather compelling inspiration for me.
Eat in, or dine out and why?
Dine out. You can’t capture that atmosphere in your kitchen, regardless of how good a cook you are.
Name something that’s on your bucket list?
Visiting a research station in Antarctica.
What sports do you play?
I snowboard and run some.
Are you a cat or a dog person?
Pupper person!
Do you have a nickname and if so, how did you get it?
Yes, and it was earned by accident.
What TV show, APP or music are you obsessed with right now?
Swedish power metal. It’s a waker-upper.
What was your first job and what influence did it have on you?
I was a paper delivery person for the Dispatch. I garnered my hatred of mornings from that.
