Cincinnati is home to the first public Montessori school in the U.S. North Avondale Montessori, a magnet school serving students in preschool through the sixth grade, is a two-story structure of approximately 84,000 square feet, costing approximately $13.8 million when completed in 2010. The building will be LEED certified and have a science lab with a “green roof” to conserve energy and control rainwater. The structure will be connected to the existing North Avondale Recreation Center to create a true neighborhood center.
